Ingredients

  • 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen or canned French-style green beans
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 4 oz. can French fried onions
  • 1 1/2 c. cooked chicken, cubed
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 c. seasoned bread stuffing
  • 4 eggs, separated

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Cook green beans and drain.
  • Place green beans and chicken in a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Combine soup and 1/3 cup water; pour over beans and chicken.
  • Combine stuffing, butter and remaining water; toss lightly.
  • Place over ingredients in baking dish.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff enough to form soft peaks.
  • Fold egg whites into yolks and spoon over casserole.
  • Bake in oven at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Top with French fried onions.
  • Bake 5 minutes longer.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Makes 8 servings.
