Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 8 chicken pieces (thighs, legs and breast)
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 bunch of beetroot, peeled and thinly sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup of water

Method

Heat oil in a saucepan and fry onion until soft. Add turmeric and cook until the onion is yellow.

Add chicken and cook until browned. Add tomato and cook for a minute. Add sliced beetroot and salt.

Add water, cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until beetroot is tender and chicken is cooked through.

To serve

Serve with boiled rice.
