Ingredients

  • chicken pieces
  • 1 or 2 cans undiluted cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 c. cooking sherry (per can of soup)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 pkg. uncooked wide egg noodles

Method

  • Brown chicken pieces.
  • Mix cream of mushroom soup with cooking sherry.
  • Put chicken on bottom of pan.
  • Put uncooked noodles on top of the chicken.
  • Pour soup and sherry over all.
  • If cooked in oven, cook at 300° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
  • If cooked in crock-pot, cook for 1 hour at medium heat and 5 hours at low setting.
  • This makes the chicken so tender that the bones will "melt" in the crock-pot, so take care when serving.
