Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed fennel seed
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 8 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. Italian dressing
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 12 oz. cottage cheese
  • 4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Combine beef, onion and green pepper in large skillet; cook until meat is browned and drain off drippings.
  • Add fennel seed, garlic powder, pepper, tomato sauce, Italian dressing and parsley flakes; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
  • Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, omitting salt; drain.
  • Combine cottage cheese, sour cream and cream cheese; mix well.
  • Spread about 1/2 cup of meat sauce in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  • Layer half each of the noodles, cottage cheese mixture, meat sauce and Mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layers.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes; let stand 10 minutes before serving.
