Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread
  • 12 ounce butter
  • 2 slices ham
  • 1 (8 ounce) can frankfurters
  • 2 slices cheese

Method

  • Heat the grill.
  • Lightly toast the bread on one side.
  • Butter the untoasted side of the bread.
  • Lay the ham or garlic sausage on the untoasted side and top with the Frankfurters.
  • Cover with the cheese slices, and cook under the hot grill until the cheese has melted.
  • Eat at once.
  • If you don't have a grill, the bread can be heated in a hot oven (400F/200C/Gas Mark 6) for a few minutes, and then buttered.
  • Place the 'toast' with the topping back into the oven, on an oven-proof dish, and cook for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese has melted.
