Ingredients

  • 1 deep pie crust shell
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/3 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 8 slices cheese, cut into small pieces
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 (3 oz.) can French fried onions
  • 1/4 c. tomato sauce

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Bake pastry shell for 8 minutes.
  • In large skillet, combine meat, green pepper, onion and salt; cook and stir over medium heat until meat browns.
  • Pour off fat.
  • Add cheese, stir until melted.
  • Remove from heat, stir in eggs and tomato sauce.
  • Turn into pastry shell.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven, arrange onions and, if desired, additional cheese slices on top.
  • Bake 2 minutes longer.
  • Refrigerate leftovers.
