Ingredients
- 2 c. sharp cheese, grated
- 1 stick margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
- dash of red pepper (cayenne)
- 2 egg whites (room temperature)
Method
- Mix all ingredients, except egg whites, together to form dough. Roll into 2 long rolls.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Next day, cut into 1/8-inch circles.
- Beat egg whites lightly and brush onto each cheese circle.
- Place a pecan half on each circle before the egg whites begin to dry.
- Bake at 350° for 18 minutes.
