Ingredients

  • 6 slices day old sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 34 cup milk
  • 1 12 tablespoons sugar
  • 13 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 14 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Preheat skillet.
  • beat up the egg in a shallow plate.
  • whisk in melted butter.
  • mix in milk.
  • mix in vanilla extract.
  • mix in sugar.
  • mix in flour.
  • mix in salt.
  • Soak each slice of bread for about 30 seconds a side in the batter mixture.
  • Take it out and shake it to remove excess.
  • Put some oil in the pan and swirl with a paper towel.
  • Alternatively, you can use those Pam sprays.
  • Fry the bread until golden brown.
