Ingredients
- 6 slices day old sandwich bread
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 egg
- 34 cup milk
- 1 12 tablespoons sugar
- 13 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 14 teaspoon salt
Method
- Preheat skillet.
- beat up the egg in a shallow plate.
- whisk in melted butter.
- mix in milk.
- mix in vanilla extract.
- mix in sugar.
- mix in flour.
- mix in salt.
- Soak each slice of bread for about 30 seconds a side in the batter mixture.
- Take it out and shake it to remove excess.
- Put some oil in the pan and swirl with a paper towel.
- Alternatively, you can use those Pam sprays.
- Fry the bread until golden brown.
