Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. bread crumbs
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 c. milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
Method
- Add onion, garlic, bread crumbs, milk, beaten egg yolks, salt, pepper and nutmeg to hamburger.
- Beat egg whites stiff; fold into hamburger mixture.
- Pinch off small bits and roll into tiny balls, keeping hands well-greased with cooking oil to ensure smooth balls.
- Place, uncovered, in greased casserole dish.
- Cook at 375° for 35 minutes.
- Pour mushroom soup over top; bake for another 10 minutes.
