Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
Method
- Melt butter or margarine in heavy saucepan over low heat. Blend in brown sugar and cream.
- Stirring constantly, bring to boiling and cook until sugar is completely dissolved, about 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm (110°).
- Gradually add the sifted confectioners sugar, beating until blended after each addition.
- If necessary, continue beating until thick enough to spread.
- Yields 1 1/2 cups.
