Ingredients

  • 3 bags microwave popcorn
  • 1 cube butter
  • 1 cube margarine
  • 2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cook popcorn; set aside in very large foil roaster pan.
  • Bring ingredients to a gentle boil in a large saucepan.
  • Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon baking soda.
  • Keep stirring until foamy. Pour syrup over popcorn, coating evenly.
  • Bake at 200° for 1 hour, tossing every 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Spread out on wax paper and separate as it cools.
  • Store in airtight containers. Makes lots!
  • Good for gifts at Christmas.
