Ingredients
- 1 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
- 3-1/2 cups self-rising flour
Method
- Cream butter and brown sugar together, add egg, milk and flavoring.
- Blend in self-rising flour; mix thoroughly.
- Chill 2 hours.
- Roll out dough on floured pastry cloth or board to l/8-inch thickness.
- Sprinkle with sugar.
- Cut into rounds of 2-l/2-inch. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 400° for 6-9 mins.
