Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 1/2 c. warm water
- 3/4 c. soft shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 8 to 8 1/2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
Method
- Soften yeast in warm water.
- Add shortening, sugar, eggs and salt.
- Add 4 cups of flour.
- Stir and then beat until smooth. Stir in 2 cups flour and beat again.
- Add remaining 2 to 2 1/2 cups flour and stir.
- This will be a soft dough.
- Cover tightly and let rise until double in bulk.
- Punch down and shape into rolls or loaves of bread.
- Bake at 425° for rolls or at 400° for loaves.
