Ingredients

  • 2 c. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. mace
  • 1/4 tsp. curry powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Louisiana hot sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (3 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Method

  • In heavy skillet, melt butter; saute celery, pepper and onions for 7 minutes stirring constantly.
  • Add flour, salt, mace, curry powder, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until well blended.
  • Stir in milk.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and thickened.
  • Add shrimp; cook about 3 minutes.
  • Pour into a buttered 6 x 10-inch casserole.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika.
  • Bake 20 minutes at 425°.
