Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 2 c. water
- 1 (1 lb.) can chili beans
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. shredded cabbage
Method
- Crumble ground beef in margarine.
- Add onion and celery; saute for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in tomatoes; break with a fork.
- Add water, beans with liquid, salt, chili powder and pepper.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add cabbage; cook until cabbage is tender, 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how tender you like cabbage.
- Delicious with corn bread.
- Freezes well.
