Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 t. table salt
  • 1/4 t. baking soda
  • 1 package graham crackers (unflavored)
  • 3/4 c semi-sweet or bittersweet
  • chocolate chips
  • 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped (between a fine chop and a rough chop, depending on your taste)
  • 1 t. excellent vanilla

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease and flour 8 x 8 inch pan, set aside.
  • Sift together dry ingredients in a small bowl (flour, salt and baking soda), set aside.
  • In medium bowl blend the butter and sugar until creamed and smooth, approx. 3-4 minutes.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time until blended and smooth, stir in vanilla.
  • Add 1/3 c. whole milk alternately with dry igredients (flour mixture), starting and ending with milk.
  • Divide batter evenly into 2 bowls - in one bowl add melted chocolate and walnuts, stir to combine. In another bowl stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour chocolate and walnut mixture into prepared pan, place whole graham crackers on top to cover, then top with chocolate chip mixture.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
  • cool on rack before slicing.
