- 3/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 c white sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 t. table salt
- 1/4 t. baking soda
- 1 package graham crackers (unflavored)
- 3/4 c semi-sweet or bittersweet
- chocolate chips
- 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped (between a fine chop and a rough chop, depending on your taste)
- 1 t. excellent vanilla
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, grease and flour 8 x 8 inch pan, set aside.
- Sift together dry ingredients in a small bowl (flour, salt and baking soda), set aside.
- In medium bowl blend the butter and sugar until creamed and smooth, approx. 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time until blended and smooth, stir in vanilla.
- Add 1/3 c. whole milk alternately with dry igredients (flour mixture), starting and ending with milk.
- Divide batter evenly into 2 bowls - in one bowl add melted chocolate and walnuts, stir to combine. In another bowl stir in chocolate chips.
- Pour chocolate and walnut mixture into prepared pan, place whole graham crackers on top to cover, then top with chocolate chip mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
- cool on rack before slicing.
