Ingredients

  • 32 whole Small Pretzel Rounds Or Squares
  • 1 bag Butterscotch Chips (10 Oz Bag)
  • 4 Tablespoons Shortening, Divided Use
  • 16 whole Large Marshmallows, Cut In Half Cross Wise
  • 18 ounces, weight Chocolate Candy Coating
  • Candy Sprinkles, For Garnish (optional)

Method

  • Place a large baking rack over a sheet of wax paper. Arrange pretzels over the baking rack.
  • In a microwave safe bowl combine butterscotch chips and 1/4 of the shortening. Melt in 30-second intervals stirring after each interval. Continue heating in 30-second intervals until it's smooth.
  • Dip each marshmallow half in the melted butterscotch. Using two forks, gently place a coated marshmallow on top of each pretzel.
  • In another microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate candy coating and remaining 3/4 of the shortening. Stir every 30 seconds and continue heating and stirring until melted.
  • Pour about a tablespoon of chocolate over each marshmallow allowing chocolate to drip down sides. Decorate with sprinkles if desired. Allow marshmallows to set for about 30 minutes.
  • Store in an airtight container.
