Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. soda
  • 2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1 c. cream or half and half
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast

Method

  • Add soda, sugar and salt to buttermilk.
  • Sift baking powder and flour into this.
  • Add yeast.
  • Stir in oil, cream and beaten eggs.
  • Mix well.
  • Store in refrigerator overnight.
  • Remove from refrigerator and allow batter to stand at room temperature to activate the yeast.
  • Bake on a hot griddle.
  • Store in a 3 pound coffee can.
  • It will keep 10 days or longer.
  • Use from it as you wish.
