Ingredients

  • 1/3 cups Butter Or Margarine
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup Milk

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Put the butter in a large baking sheet with sides. Place the baking sheet in the oven until butter is melted. Remove it from the oven and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir the dry ingredients (flour through salt) together. Stir in the cheese. Add the milk and stir until the dough comes together. Scrape it out onto a floured work surface and shape into a ball. Roll it out into the shape of a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into bars. Dip both sides in the butter. Arrange all the pieces on the pan with a little space between. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
