Ingredients

  • 3 lb. fresh pork
  • 1 chicken (3 lb. fryer)
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 Tbsp. chicken fat
  • 5 c. chicken broth (reserve)
  • 1 small bottle ketchup
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can creamed corn
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pkg. frozen butter beans
  • potatoes
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Cook pork and chicken in enough water to simmer.
  • Simmer covered until simmered.
  • Skin meat from bones.
  • Strain broth and skim off fat.
  • Save for use.
  • Heat chicken fat or margarine in large heavy skillet.
  • Add onion and cook gently until tender.
