Ingredients

  • 1 firm loaf bread
  • 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. (5 oz.) diced, cooked ham
  • 1/2 c. chopped green onion
  • 4 oz. can chopped green chilies
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter

Method

  • Slice off top of bread.
  • Reserve top.
  • Hollow the inside leaving 1/2-inch shell.
  • Cut removed bread into cubes.
  • Combine cheese, cream cheese and sour cream.
  • Stir in ham, onion, chilies and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Spoon into hollowed loaf.
  • Replace top.
  • Wrap loaf in several layers of aluminum foil.
  • Set on cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Meanwhile, toast the bread cubes with the melted butter and oil. When the filled loaf is done, stir, then serve with the toasted bread cubes.
