Ingredients
- 6 qt. sliced pickles
- 12 big onions, cut up
- 1 pt. vinegar
- 5 c. sugar
- 1 to 2 tsp. turmeric
- 2 doz. whole cloves
Method
- Wash pickles and slice.
- Cut up onions. Work in 1/2 cup salt. Let stand for 2 hours. Drain liquid. Add the spices.
- Mix vinegar, sugar, cloves and turmeric and bring to a boil.
- Simmer (not boil) for a couple of minutes.
- Put in jars immediately. Makes 8 pints.
