- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 lb beef stew meat
- 1/4 cup rough chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon flour
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomato
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Method
- Brown beef in olive oil.
- Add onion and cook 7 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
- Add flour, cook 2 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer 1 hour and remove tomatoes. Set aside.
- Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
