Ingredients
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
- 1 small can evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. margarine
- chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 pkg. chocolate chips
Method
- Prepare the cake mix as instructed on box.
- Pour half of the batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake 10 minutes at 350°.
- Melt the caramels, evaporated milk and margarine until smooth.
- Pour over baked cake.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts (optional) and 1/2 package chocolate chips.
- Pour on rest of cake batter and sprinkle with nuts and rest of chips.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
