Ingredients

  • 3 medium onions, coarsely chopped
  • 3 large cans crushed tomatoes
  • 6 cloves garlic (run through garlic press)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. ground allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. black pepper (depends on how spicy you like it)
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • Italian parsley (optional) (not the dried or garnishing parsley)

Method

  • Stir together in 6-quart covered heavy aluminum pan.
  • Place in 250° oven for 6 hours stirring once after 1 hour.
  • Leave in pan for another 3 hours.
  • You could assemble the ingredients 1 hour before bedtime and set the oven to turn off six hours later.
  • Don't forget to stir after 1 hour, then leave it.
