Ingredients

  • 1 to 5 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 lb. bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can beef consomme soup
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 (4 1/2 oz.) jars sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic or 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 can Italian style stewed tomatoes, well drained (optional)
  • cooked spaghetti or linguine noodles

Method

  • Combine meats and brown together.
  • Drain well.
  • Combine with all ingredients, except optional stewed tomatoes, in 5-quart slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Add tomatoes during last hour of cooking time.
  • Serve over noodles with garlic bread on the side.
  • Serves 6 to 8.
