Ingredients

  • 2 large cans sweet peas
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 stalks asparagus, chopped
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium potato or turnip, chopped
  • leftover ham with bone or bone shank
  • 1 pt. half and half

Method

  • Saute bacon, onion, celery and garlic in medium pot.
  • Mash peas in liquid and add, along with asparagus, bacon, potato or turnip and ham.
  • Add a pinch of pepper, pinch of parsley and a pinch of thyme.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add half and half.
