Ingredients
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 or 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 stick butter
Method
- Mix all together until smooth.
- Place 1 stick of butter in a bread pan.
- Put in oven to melt.
- Leave 1/2 of butter in pan and use other 1/2 over top of biscuits.
- Spoon dough into pan.
- Bake at 375° until brown.
- Makes approximately 9 big biscuits.
