Ingredients
- 1 turkey
- salt, pepper and sage (to taste)
- 1 apple
- 1 onion
- 1 potato
- 1 carrot
- 1 piece celery
Method
- Wash and clean turkey.
- Season to taste.
- Place apple, onion, potato, carrot and celery inside bird.
- Place in a roasting pan large enough to cover (or cover tightly with foil).
- Add 3 quarts water in roasting pan; cover, bring to a boil and boil 15 minutes. Place in preheated oven (475°) for 45 minutes.
- Turn oven off and leave in oven to steam overnight.
- Do not open oven door until morning.
- Turkey will be browned and moist.
- Lots of broth for dressing and soups.
