Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. milk
Method
- Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) or 3 (8-inch) cake pans.
- Cream butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla until fluffy; add eggs. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and powder with salt in bowl. Add to butter mixture alternately with milk.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes in 9-inch pan, 35 to 40 minutes in 8-inch pan.
- Cool 10 minutes and frost.
