Ingredients

  • 1 lb. #43 shells
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 small can chopped mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 lb. cooked beef, chopped
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 3/4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Cook shells 12 minutes.
  • Drain and rinse.
  • Saute in oil, onions, garlic and mushrooms.
  • Mix in beef, egg, bread crumbs, cheeses, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Stuff shells with meat mixture.
  • Arrange shells in large deep baking pan that has been covered with 3 to 4 cups of spaghetti or tomato sauce.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Baste with sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
