Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. sour cream
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 5 1/2 c. plain flour
Method
- Cream sugar and butter well.
- Stir in eggs and sour cream. Add the dry ingredients which have been sifted together and vanilla.
- Mix well.
- Chill several hours.
- May be dropped or rolled and cut 1/4-inch thick.
- Sprinkle with sugar or cinnamon sugar.
- Top with nuts or raisins (optional).
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350°.
- Makes about 60 cookies.
