Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sirloin or round steak
  • garlic powder
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 c. minced onions
  • 1 can consomme
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped chives

Method

  • Rub garlic into meat and cut into 1/4-inch thick strips.
  • Mix next 4 ingredients and coat meat.
  • Brown well in small amount of oil.
  • Add onions and cook until translucent.
  • Add rest of flour mixture, consomme, water and mushrooms.
  • Cover and cook slow about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove cover and cook until thickened.
  • Add sour cream and chives.
  • Serve over rice, mashed potatoes or noodles.
