Ingredients
- 2 lb. sirloin steak or lesser cut of meat, cut 1-inch thick
- 2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/4 c. butter or shortening
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 3 beef Bouillon cubes
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 Tbsp. flour
Method
- In a large skillet, saute mushrooms and onions in 3 tablespoons butter until golden brown.
- Remove from skillet.
- Add remaining butter.
- Brown meat on all sides, 15 minutes.
- Dissolve bouillon in boiling water.
- Pour over meat.
- Add tomato paste, mustard and salt.
- Cover.
- Simmer 45 minutes, until tender.
