- 2 lb. cubed lean beef
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 3 1/2 c. water
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 6 medium potatoes, cubed
- 4 medium onions, cut up
- 1 c. tomato ketchup
- 1/2 c. dry red wine
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. peas
Method
- Put in large saucepan and brown meat well in shortening; add water, onion, salt, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
- Cover; simmer 45 minutes until meat is tender, occasionally stir.
- Add potatoes, carrots, onion, peas, ketchup and wine.
- Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
