Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean beef cubes
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 c. water
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 chopped onions
- 6 chopped carrots
- 6 chopped potatoes
- 1 c. green peas
Method
- Roll beef in flour; brown beef in shortening in heavy saucepan.
- Add water, tomato sauce, salt and pepper.
- Cover tightly and cook over low heat 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Add onions, carrots and potatoes.
- Cook 30 more minutes.
- Add peas and cook until tender.
- Serves 6.
