Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. shell macaroni
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 1 puree can water
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 lb. American cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs

Method

  • Cook macaroni in boiling water according to package directions.
  • Brown beef; add onion and pepper.
  • Simmer a few minutes.
  • Add tomato puree, water, mushroom soup, cooked macaroni, salt and cheese to casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
  • Yields 8 to 10 servings.
