Ingredients

  • 1 lb. round steak
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 c. thin sliced carrots
  • 1/4 lb. mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 c. Burgundy wine
  • cooked rice or noodles

Method

  • Slice meat into thin strips; brown in oil.
  • Remove from pan. Saute onions and carrots until carrots are tender-crisp.
  • Add mushrooms and cook 2 minutes.
  • Stir in flour, salt, pepper and thyme.
  • Gradually add broth and wine; return meat to pan.
  • Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until meat is tender.
  • Serve over rice or noodles.
