- 3/4 lb. ground beef, venison or turkey
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped celery
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire
- 1/2 c. chili sauce or salsa
- 2 c. canned tomatoes, cut up
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 c. barley
Method
- Saute in skillet the ground beef, onion, celery and green pepper.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer.
- Cover and cook until barley is tender.
