Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 x salt to taste
  • 1 x black pepper to taste

Method

  • Blend milk and flour.
  • Add butter [melted].
  • Mix together.
  • Heat on medium in microwave about one minute.
  • Stir.
  • Repeat until reaches desired thickness.
  • Variations:
  • Cheese - add 1/2 cup cheese and either 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard or 1/4 teaspoon spice sauce such as teriyaki or Worcestershire, etc.
  • Red - add 3 tbsp ketchup.
  • Curry - 1/2 teaspoon curry powder.
  • Cucumber - add 1/2 cup grated or diced cucumber and pinch of cayenne.
  • Sea Food - add 1/2 cup cooked cocktail shrimp or chopped other sea food.
