Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. Worcestershire
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar

Method

  • Heat oil in a 1 1/2-quart saucepan over low heat.
  • Add onion and saute until tender.
  • Mix in remaining ingredients.
  • Simmer 15 minutes or until thickened.
  • Pour over ribs (browned) or chicken in a baking pan and bake, covered, 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350°. Yields about 3 cups (enough to cover 6 servings chicken or ribs).
