Ingredients
- 2 c. enriched flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 to 3/4 c. milk
Method
- Sift together dry ingredients.
- Cut shortening into flour. Add liquid and mix lightly with a fork.
- Turn out on lightly floured surface.
- Knead gently 1/2 minute.
- Roll out dough 1/2-inch thick.
- Cut with floured biscuit cutter.
- Bake on ungreased baking sheet in very hot oven at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Makes 1 1/2 dozen biscuits.
