Ingredients

  • 10 oz. pkg. elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Jimmy Dean pork sausage
  • 2 small cans tomato paste
  • 1 medium size onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • grated Romano cheese

Method

  • Brown pork sausage by itself.
  • Saute ground meat, onion and garlic.
  • Add the pork
  • sausage and the tomato paste.
  • Cook for a few minutes, then add
  • tomato sauce.
  • Fill each can with water and add along with
  • salt, pepper, sugar and basil.
  • Cook for 1 hour. Cook macaroni
  • in boiling, salted water al dente. Drain.
  • Layer macaroni, sauce
  • and
  • cheese
  • in
  • baking
  • dish. Sprinkle cheese on each layer.
  • Bake for 1/2 hour at 350°.
