- 10 oz. pkg. elbow macaroni
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. Jimmy Dean pork sausage
- 2 small cans tomato paste
- 1 medium size onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 Tbsp. basil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- grated Romano cheese
Method
- Brown pork sausage by itself.
- Saute ground meat, onion and garlic.
- Add the pork
- sausage and the tomato paste.
- Cook for a few minutes, then add
- tomato sauce.
- Fill each can with water and add along with
- salt, pepper, sugar and basil.
- Cook for 1 hour. Cook macaroni
- in boiling, salted water al dente. Drain.
- Layer macaroni, sauce
- and
- cheese
- in
- baking
- dish. Sprinkle cheese on each layer.
- Bake for 1/2 hour at 350°.
