Ingredients
- 1 lb. pasta
- 1 stick butter
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 10 oz. Cheddar cheese
- 2 c. milk
- 2 c. macaroni water
- salt and pepper
- 1 c. grated cheese
Method
- Melt butter.
- Add flour, gradually.
- Cook 2 to 3 minutes.
- Mix milk and macaroni water.
- Add to roux, slowly.
- Stir until it boils and thickens.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in cheese (mix grated and Cheddar).
- Save some cheese to spread on top.
- Mix sauce with macaroni.
- Sprinkle cheese on top and add a few thin slices of butter.
- Bake at 375° until brown and crisp on top.
