Ingredients

  • 4 c. cubed bread
  • 2 eggs
  • chopped onions (as desired)
  • milk (to completely moisten)
  • bacon strips

Method

  • Mix first 4 ingredients as for any filling.
  • Lay 2 bacon strips crisscross on wax paper.
  • With hands, form bread mixture into balls about size of fist and lay on bacon strips.
  • Fold bacon around filling and fasten with toothpick, if desired.
  • Lay side by side in pie plate or shallow baking dish and bake at 350° about 1/2 hour.
  • (Balls can also be put on broiler pan to bake so fat drains off.)
