Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. bacon
  • 2 cans sliced water chestnuts (whole water chestnuts can be used)
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. chili sauce
  • 1/4 c. Hellmann's mayo

Method

  • Wrap water chestnuts in 1/3 to 1/2 strip of bacon; secure with toothpick.
  • Arrange in a 9 x 13-inch pan with toothpicks up.
  • Oven brown 1/2 hour; drain off fat.
  • Mix the brown sugar, chili sauce and mayo until blended.
  • Pour mixture over chestnuts.
  • Bake at 400° for 45 minutes.
