Ingredients

  • 2 (16 oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. green pepper
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 c. water
  • pinch of baking soda

Method

  • In a saucepan, saute onion, pepper and garlic in cooking oil. Stir in basil, oregano and crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Bring to a boil.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Reduce heat and simmer about 20 minutes.
