Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. (heaping) cornstarch
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 to 6 c. tart apples, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 pie crusts
Method
- Place apples in pie shell, enough to heap up.
- Mix cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together and pour over apples.
- Dot with butter.
- Place top crust over apples; seal edges. Bake at 400° until apples test done and crust is golden brown.
