Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Method

  • In small bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Set aside. In large mixing bowl, combine shortening, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs.
  • Add flour mixture.
  • Mix in chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
