Ingredients

  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. cocoa
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. veggie oil
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. boiling water

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Add cocoa into 2 cups boiling water. Cook on low until slightly thick.
  • Stir constantly.
  • Cool for 5 minutes, then add in a large mixing bowl, sugar, vanilla, eggs and oil.
  • Beat well.
  • Add flour and baking powder.
  • Beat well.
  • Put baking soda in a cup and add 1/2 cup boiling water.
  • Stir well. Add to batter.
  • Beat well.
  • Pour into a well greased and floured cake pan.
  • Bake 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Ice with cream cheese frosting.
